Airbus has decided to locate one of its two European Zero-Emission Development Centres (ZEDC) in Nantes. The aim of these centres is to manufacture cryogenic tanks at competitive costs for the launch of the ZEROe aircraft while accelerating the development of hydrogen propulsion technologies.

The technological developments must encompass the entire product and industrial equipment, from elementary parts to assembly, as well as system integration and cryogenic testing of liquid hydrogen (LH2) tanks.
