Use of hydrogen for the fleet of handling vehicles at an intensive logistics platform (98 vehicles, i.e. 80% of the fleet). A supply of green hydrogen, which is a first in Europe thanks to local production. Distribution thanks to 3 refuelling stations installed inside the warehouse and a hydrogen compression and storage station located outside the platform.
This provides Lidl with a local energy solution that combines environmental benefits with logistical performance:
- Extremely short charging time (2 to 3 minutes)
- High availability of hydrogen vehicles
- Significant amount of space saved (no dedicated charging area on site)
- Performance maintained throughout the life of the vehicles
